The Science Department of S.S.J. Government Post Graduate College, Syalde is an integral part of the institution, committed to providing quality education and promoting scientific temper among students. The department comprises five well-established disciplines, namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, and Botany, which together cater to the academic and practical needs of undergraduate science students. The department is supported by a team of eight qualified and experienced teaching faculty members, who are actively involved in classroom teaching, practical training, academic mentoring, and student guidance. In addition, four non-teaching staff members provide essential support in laboratories, administrative work, and day-to-day departmental functioning, ensuring a smooth academic environment.
The Science Department offers undergraduate degree program in Bachelor of Science [B.Sc.] under two groups: B.Sc. (PCM Group) and B.Sc. (ZBC Group). These program are designed as per the university curriculum and aim to strengthen students’ conceptual understanding, analytical skills, and practical knowledge in various scientific disciplines.
The department has a total student intake capacity of 240 in the B.Sc. program.
